Inspired by a conversation highlighting generational divide and the rapid increase in the pricing of our essential items. From supermarket chains declaring record profits in the middle of an ongoing food crisis to the lack of policy intervention to ensure fair access to healthy food for every person. The composition is holding items often eaten by students, folks on a budget, and those living through systems of poverty and inaccessibility. Yet, those items are becoming increasingly expensive, as expensive as a hot meal from a deli.
A reminder that poverty, hunger, and starvation are policy choices, rather than mere coincidences.
